The Reiki Insights Series is a free e-mail series of Reiki topics by Tina Zion. Each short topic will address a concern you may have, provide a tip or idea, or open up new areas of thinking for your energy healing.

Here are some sample excerpts from Reiki Insights topics:

The power of Reiki is often so strong that strange and sometimes scary things happen during a session. Sometimes new practitioners stop out of fear. I hope to take that scare out of it by discussion and sharing information with practitioners. One of the most common questions in this area is:

Q--I began to shake uncontrollably while I was doing Reiki. What was happening?

A--Grounding is such an overused term but I must use it here. I recommend that before you begin the session that you send your own energy down into our Mother Earth. Do this by imagining seeing this happen or imagining feeling energy going down your legs and deep into the earth. This will STABILIZE the current that is surging through you.

Q--Is it possible to actually help or make the Reiki that is flowing through me to be stronger?

A--Yes there are a couple of ways to enhance the energy flow. Make sure that you are drinking LOTS and LOTS of water (not soda pop). We are electrical beings and so is Reiki. For example: Electricity surges through water when electrical lines have fallen into water during a storm. It is the same for our bodies. If we are dehydrated, the electrical nature of Reiki is inhibited. Drink lots of water before, during and after your Reiki session.

LASER BEAM YOUR REIKI ENERGY

We cannot improve on Reiki. It is ultimately the life force of the Universe so how could we possibly improve on that! I present this opportunity as a method that we, as physical human beings, can offer ourselves as an enhanced vessel for Reiki. When I think of a laser beam of energy I see a thin beam of Light that is completely focused in a singular direction. In other words, it does not flow in all directions or radiate outward in a similar way that light from a light bulb rushes out into the room when you flip the switch. I think we usually visualize Reiki flowing around the body like light from a light bulb or water rushing around in a bathtub. My sense is that Reiki usually moves into and around the client in this manner.

If we truly pay attention to our Reiki Master Guides we occasionally are asked or directed to channel the energy in a different way. As I look back over the years I remember that the direction from Spirit to laser beam the energy has come up when my client has had cancer. Sometimes the client has had a benign cyst and sometimes the person I am working with has a broken bone. Those are the situations that I have sent the energy into the client like a laser beam........continued....
